Lily | Labrador Cross
Lily is a female 14 month old Labrador/Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.  She's known to be fine with older children and other dogs but she doesn't have any experience of cats.  Lily has had to come into her care through no fault of her own.  Her owner is very ill and will no longer be able to care for Lily.  She was described by one of our volunteer dog walkers as "fine on the lead and was enjoying sniffing around and having an adventure.  She's friendly and enjoys attention".  Lily knows basic commands and is seen on the video responding to 'sit' and 'paw'.  A lovely girl who will be an easy fit into most homes.   Video link http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo210/nikmurphy/Lincoln%20Dogs/Lily/

RSPCA Lincoln Tel/Fax (office only): 01522 544862.  This telephone is manned 9.30am until 12.45pm Monday - Friday.  You can ring one of our cat foster mums on 01522 889372. As we are extremely short staffed we may not get back to you immediately but do please keep trying to reach us.

You can ring the kennels directly to arrange to see the dog or ask for further information.  Panton Kennels - Tel: 01673 858622.  Please ring to make an appointment to ensure the dog hasn’t already been reserved and as this is a private boarding kennel.

Squirrel | Greyhound
Squirrel is a six year old blue Greyhound.  She has had a hard life as she was raced then retired, bred from and then used as a working dog so it's time she got to put her paws up and learn how to be a pet for the first time in her life.  Squirrel is currently staying in a foster home as to us with an 18 week old puppy also needing a home.  Squirrel cannot be rehomed with small furries due to her past and we would only recommend she is rehomed either as an only dog or with a medium to large dog. They are happily sharing her foster home with two American Bull Dogs and is absolutely fine.  Squirrel's daughter also needs a home and can be rehomed with small furries as she's young enough to adapt.  Their foster Mum says "you will fall in love with them and I need to rehome quick before I get too attached (nearly too late) they are so sweet and picked up the house training really quickly"   Both dogs are in foster near Retford, Nottinghamshire.  Please call their foster Mum for further information - 07716241348.

Prince | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Prince, Staffie, DOB 1 year old

Homing Requirements: Prince needs stability and guidance in offering him direction and affirmation of his beauty and gifts. He needs a secure garden to enjoy and a dog-centred lifestyle. Prince could live with older children as long as they don't whip his energy up as he could either become a leaping lord or a calm monk!

His Story:  Prince was found stray at just under 1 year old. He is a longer legged Staffie with a beautiful reddy brown brindle coat. He served his time in the pound and we came forwards to save him, as his last chance, to avoid the 'void'!

Advert: Prince is Royal ... and is now searching for his true Kingdom! Prince needs a family who can offer him fun and joy. Prince would suit a first time Staffie family providing they accept his enthusiasm and give him guidance in directing his energy through into wonderful walks and well earned rest periods! He needs a dog centred family with an understanding of enjoying and commanding his laughter and joy: He has the energy of a young dog in his prime that a young dog revels in, he is at the prime of his life. He has a calm make-up for such a young lad ... Prince will be the dog you make him so investigate training classes now!

Prince is managing in kennels but it is not a befitting environment for him. He has so much to offer and kennels is a holding place be it safe until his family is found. He is beautiful and non reactive to dogs he is introduced to in a controlled and calm way. He seems to enjoy meeting dogs and so his socialisation shouldn't be a problem particularly once he has gained more skills and sense of territory. Prince won't be with us long ... he is such a catch!

MacTarn | Patterdale Terrier

MacTarn, Patterdale, DOB May 07

His Story: Found stray May08. Homed for 1 year with an older lady but he had a tussle with a dog that rushed at him and she couldn't continue. Needs terrier experienced home wonderful example of the breed. Neutered; vax'd and chipped.

Homing Questionnaire: All MacTarn needs a 'feet on the ground' terrier home. MacTarn meets dogs well but kept on lead and we just keep walking... as quite novice in his dog skills. Only pet status. Excellent to be left part time hours. Housetrained. Needs harmonious family; Loving but too terrier to live with children. Not for kennels hols: had a lifetime of kennels.

Advert: MacTarn is a classic Patterdale Terrier the real MacCoy! Arrived into rescue in May 08 in poor condition and came to us in May 09 having had an incident with a dog (after a whole year!) He was loved, cared for and proved himself to be a great companion. He can mix with dogs outside if given gentle intros, retained on an extender as deaf in the field! Bright, intelligent, lively Patterdale who to the experienced owner will delight..he is "the business!"

MacTarn simply needs a terrier owner, confidence down the lead. He is very personable character as Patterdales are, which makes them delightful to own. He is a dear and a terrier, through and through. He loves the car. He is young, in good health and awaits his new family, what a treasure...Inquisitive, bright and always smiling! LOVE HIM!

Daisy, Princess and Tilly | Alsatian / German Shepherd
Daisy, Princess and Tilly - These three girls came in together.   We suspect Tilly is the Mum with Daisy and Princess being the daughters.  All three are still under assessment as they've just arrived and all three are very timid, with the pups perhaps not fully socialised yet.  Tilly is a small German Shepherd cross aged approximately three years.  Once she feels more confident with you (and it doesn't take too long) she's a very affectionate little thing who loves a cuddle.  A really lovely little girl.  Princess and Daisy are thought to be under a year old.  They are both clearly more German Shepherd than their Mum so probably have a GSD Dad.  Quite small dogs with the huge GSD ears which gives them a puppy appearance even though they maybe almost adult in size.  These girls are very wary and timid but Mum encourages them to come and say hello.  These two would benefit from being a home environment and properly socialised as soon as possible.  All three appear to be good with other dogs.  The kennels will advise more in time when they've been with us a little longer.   Daisy, Princess and Tilly video and more photos http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo210/nikmurphy/Lincoln%20Dogs/Daisy%20Princess%20Tilly/

Riddick | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier
Riddick is a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier aged approximately two years.  He's a very large Staffie, much bigger than most males of this breed, incredibly broad (perhaps a bit of Bull Dog in there?) and gets on well with other dogs.  As always with this breed at this age, he's a bit boisterous when first out of his kennel as he's so very pleased and happy to see you but he very quickly calms down.  A top boy who is a lovely affectionate lad who enjoys a cuddle and just thoroughly enjoys being with you.  Calmer than most boys of this age and breed.   Riddick video and more photos http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo210/nikmurphy/Lincoln%20Dogs/Riddick/

Leo | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier
Leo is a male 2-3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  Leo is good with other dogs and described by the kennel owner as "a nice boy".  He's a young, strong boy and so full of energy.  Once he's had a few minutes running around he soon calms down and comes for some fuss and attention.  Visitors need to understand that Staffies absolutely love people and want to be with people all of the time so they literally erupt from their kennel full of the joys of life wanting to say hello at 100 mph.  Just give them chance to calm down and you'll meet a boy for more like the pet you would take home.  They are very loyal dogs who just don't want to leave your side.   Leo video and more photos http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo210/nikmurphy/Lincoln%20Dogs/Leo/

Stevie | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Stevie, Staffie, DOB 25.02.04

Homing Requirements:  Stevie is an ideal family dog; he adores his family. He is fully trustworthy, proven around children over 7 years old. Good skills on meeting dogs, but can get excited if energy is too full-on or lively so needs supervision and verbal intervention if judged too intrusive for Stevie's liking. Needs to be retained on a lead and a secure garden. Not for cats, small furries or fast movers. Only pet status.

His Story: Stevie was sold to an adoring couple who trained him and kept in contact with his homebreeder for the first year. 4 years later he was found stray and unclaimed which was a puzzle. Then homed by our rescue into a devoted dog centred family. 1 year later there was an accidential meeting with a tiny pup on his doorstep without an adult present, which left all confused; Stevie lost his family and his ex-family are in shock and bereft. Stevie is vax'd and neutered.

Advert: Stevie is a STAR...yes he really is Stevie Wonder. An excellent Stafford from a sound background and kind endearing temperament. Stevie has proven himself time and time again within our Rescue and during the year he was homed. Rosettes and accolades galore...this is a terrific dog with a warm heart and lots of tolerance and is fun to be around in an active family. A gentleman...a "must have" Staffie!

Stevie has just turned 6 years old and is in brilliant health. He was adored as a puppy and treasured for the last year...so carries an 'I'm loved' air on his sweet face and in his kind eyes. Stevie is fine around dogs. but like most terriers, needs supervision to avoid him becoming worried or over excited. Stevie has always been a no! for cats & small furries...and chance encounters with tiny puppies. Stevie has always been an only dog & would get worried having another dog in his house even as a visitor. Stevie will shine through and find a family who are confident and will applaud his many gifts. Stevie is a catch!

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

Sandy | Cross Breed (Small)
Sandy is approx eight years old. She came so close to being put to sleep as the pound was full and she had not been claimed (this is her photo from her stay in the pound). She's now in foster with female terrier and has begun to play with her. Sandy is ok being left for few hours, house trained, good on lead and loves sleeping on the bed! Although not food aggressive, she does love her food and chases Maisy out the room barking if Maisy comes into room while she's eating! You can stroke her or pick up bowl while she's eating, just doesn't like other dogs near her. She loves cuddles and will snuggle next to you on the sofa. Would suit an active retired couple as she likes following you around all day then snoozing when she can. Probably not rehomed with young children as they would be too much for her. Sandy is in a foster home in Lincoln please call Wendy on 07766124364.
