Ceredigion Animal Rescue and Education is a registered Charity No 1116262 established in 2006.

It aims to find permanent caring homes for unwanted pets in Ceredigion and surrounding counties and to educate the public regarding the care and responsibility of pet ownership.

Although we are based in West Wales we re-home all over the UK and will always carry out home checks.

ROCKY & STARBUCK - 2YR OLD ROTTIE X’s | Rottie Cross

Rocky & Starbuck have come back to us because their owners have lost their home. They are brother & sister who were born in our rescue when their mum came in as a stray. They are both house trained, and get on with most other dogs, although they would need quite a secure garden as they can both be escape artists. As they are still quite young and energetic, they would need quite a lot of exercise and space to “spread”, and would benefit from some obedience training. JED approx 5 yr Cocker Spaniel | Cocker Spaniel

Jed is a failed gun dog and consequently is very, very high energy, and he still does have that gun-dog instinct. He would need a home where he can have plenty of physical & mental stimulation as he can be quite bouncy, and could get bored easily. He is good with other dogs most of the time, has good recall & is almost house-trained. He knows basic commands and is a bright boy, so would learn very quickly. He likes to collect things although he is not destructive, and he is very affectionate. He has lived in kennels, but would fit into a home environment easily. JACK approx 3yr old Jack Russell | Jack Russell Terrier

Jack is a lovely 3yr old Jack Russell, who loves people, and is very friendly, but will chase cats. He is good on a lead and has great recall. He is ok with most dogs, but can be a bit choosy when he’s out walking. He is a very busy boy and would need lots of exercise and mental stimulation, but loves a cuddle. He can be a little travel sick in the car, but enjoys looking out of the window as the world goes by. We feel that Jack would be better suited to life on a smallholding or farm type home. REX 4YR OLD LAB X COLLIE | Labrador Cross

Rex is a 4 year old Labrador x collie, who young fell down the stairs and broke his hip when he was a youngster. This was all replaced by a metal joint and pin. It doesn't worry him at all, except he sticks the leg out a bit when he sits down. He is very loving and very kind, and gets on really well with all other dogs. He hasn't done much lead work, but has good recall when off the lead. He is house trained but may have the odd accident initially. In the evenings he can be a bit whiney as this is when he used to play ball with his family. He loves long walks and runs off the lead, and eats anything. He needs to be kept on a low protein diet, as he can be more energetic on anything else. He hates being shouted at, and if emotionally upset can get a bit of a runny tummy. He is a really lovely, soppy boy and sometimes likes to think he is a lap dog. CHELSEA APPROX 2YR OLD JACK RUSSELL | Jack Russell Terrier

Chelsea is a lovely, friendly Jack Russell, who came to us because she was left on her own quite a lot. Because of this she suffers from separation anxiety, and would need to go to where there is someone home most of the time.

She loves a cuddle, but can be full of energy sometimes, and would need long walks to tire her out. Typical of Jack Russells, she can go selectively deaf, but will eventually come back. She’s not good with cats, and we feel she would be a little too boisterous for young children
